Olol Albab

The aim of Olol-Albab is to put the teachings of the Quran into practice and spread the message of Allah around the world. This organization is designed to support humanity while embracing technology. Initially, the organization will create apps and APIs for mosques and community members to benefit from the internet and assist their communities effectively. The app will provide information about the mosque, prayer times, fasting times, and community announcements. Unlike social media, which often overwhelms users with numerous notifications and messages, this app aims to keep notifications minimal and manageable.

The app will also allow users to search for specific DUAs that match their current situations, providing translations and guidelines for recitation.

It will also allow users to read the Quran in their preferred writing styles, bookmark important verses, and easily search for specific verses and bookmarks or topics.

Inspiration

Olol-Albab has been inspired by the Quranic أُوْلُواْٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ , which means the people of understanding or intellect. The word has been mentioned in Quran multiple times and it has been greately explained in Surah Az-Zumar ayah 17-18 (ie 39:17 to 39:18) as following

But those who have avoided worshiping false goods, and turned towards Allāh — for them are good tidings. So give good tidings to My servants — Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allāh has guided, and those are people of understanding.

While reflecting on these verses of the Quran, it is important to listen patiently to the words of Allah and try to put them into practice. The Quran talks about many topics, sometimes briefly and sometimes in detail. When we read it with the right understanding, we arrive at implementing some key points:

  • Emphasizing the belief in one God (Allah)
  • Acknowledging the prophets, with Muhammad as the final messenger who guides us through God’s messages.
  • Living a good life, focusing on honesty, justice, and kindness, while being mindful that we are accountable for our actions in the afterlife.
  • Encouraging strong support and unity among believers.
  • Outlining and implementing important practices like prayer (Salah), fasting (Sawm), charity (Zakat), and pilgrimage (Hajj) that help us grow spiritually and connect with God.
